I am SO pleased with myself. I have spent two days eating in restaurants and at a wedding reception and I STAYED ON PROGRAM!!!!! The first night I think I ate all of my points and the exercise points I'd earned that day, when we went to a restaurant that had no menu, but just take what you get. But I didn't go over, which is the main thing. Today we went to a "stuff your face buffet" for a wedding, and I still managed to eat reasonably.

At the wedding, someone took a group picture with me in it (a polaroid) and I didn't hate it. I'm no twiggy, but I'm not a blimp either. It feels good.

Nothing to report, really, but given my "reluctance" to go to the club yesterday, I decided I'd better write something so people wouldn't think I'd given up. Yes, I was there at 6 a.m. this morning. Only 2 of us there most of the time. 6 min on the recumbant bike (I'm about ready to go to 7, I think), 25 on the treadmill at another speed up, and then more reps on all the weight bearing machines. It's getting easier. Time to add some more machines and move the workout up to an hour.

I'll be there tomorrow to finish out the week, but we'll be away over the weekend, so I'll take Sat. and Sun. off. Eating continues to be in control. Nearly a month now!

I have to admit that it was a little hard to get out to the club this morning. I was up until 1:30 writing a review that had to be at the newspaper first thing in the morning, so I really wanted to sleep till about 6:15, when I'd have to get up to get coffee started, but instead I did get up at 5:30 and was at the club before it opened, actually (the person in charge was late arriving). Did 5 min. longer on the treadmill at a faster speed, and pretty much everything else the same. I can feel my abdominal muscles being worked. I think I still would rather not have gone today, but I'm glad that I did. I'm as determined to stick with this as I am determined to stick with WW.

4.6 lbs! That's the best loss yet. I don't know if it's because of Wendis or because of exercise or just because I've been so faithful to this eating plan. Whatever--I've now lost 13 pounds at least (I don't have a "before" weigh in, since I was on the plan a week before I joined WW. I also worked out at the club for 45 minutes and then came home and walked the 1/2 mile to the meeting and home again.

I don't recognize myself! (how I"m behaving--it's not that I've changed that much physically, of course!)

Did 45 minutes at the club this morning. I may feel this workout more than last time. I upped the time on the treadmill from 5 min to 15 (the max allowed in that club), I raised the weights on the weight-bearing machines from 1 to 2 or 3 (depending on the machine). I tried to make 6 min on the recumbant bike, but pooped out after 5, though the machine for upper body exercise wasn't quite as bad as last time. I really enjoyed myself. Some people groan at getting out of bed at 6 to go to the club, but since (a) I don't sleep in bed, and (b) I get up at 4 to work, it's no big sacrifice for me--and I got to see it snow because I was up so early. I went for a higher point breakfast this morning--scrambled egg, yogurt, muffin and butter. It would also have been Paul's birthday today, so I'm going to have sushi for lunch.

Well, hmmm....maybe the Wendis plan isn't so good after all. Lots of negative comment about it on Boot Camp Buddies and today on the "very low points" day I had a difficult time. First day I've really had bad food cravings. I finally decided "screw it!" I was way below points anyway, so I ate something that filled me up. I ended the day at 23 points, which is still about 10 points below my medium range, but it wasn't as "very low" as I had hoped. But I think that since I'm still so new and not having problems on a "plateau" I'll just stick with the regular program. Why screw things up before I've gotten into it?

I did have a really good soup again for lunch, tho--more chicken broth with vegetables (cauliflower, carrots, and yellow pepper) in it, and then pureed. That with the rest of the cole slaw from yesterday. It definitely filled me up for awhile. And all for 2 points.

I also discovered herbal tea. I had a nice cup of raspberry tea in my lovely emu cup (Christmas present from Australia) and it was a very civilized break this afternoon.

Tomorrow morning--back to the club!
